Today’s pattern is called CARNIVAL. Based on simple triangles and circles in a variety of favourite colours perhaps making the design appear anthropomorphic?

Funfair pattern design rotated by 90° creating a whole new vibe!

AI describes the pattern: A playful geometric pattern of bold triangles and diamonds arranged in rhythmic bands, evoking bunting, fairground tents and the excitement of a festival.

Other Versions of Contour
I love to experiment with a design to see how far I can push the potential. For this pattern I also tried varying the saturation of a colour for each of the 6x paths. Varying from 100% colour to just 5%. This has the effect of the paths progressing from rich colour to practically white. Which do you prefer?

Printed Circuit Board Pattern Design
AI describes the design as: A playful geometric pattern inspired by printed circuit boards, with winding tracks, rounded connections and scattered nodes creating an intricate technical rhythm.

The Pattern
For this pattern I have taken only the gist of the original circuit board. One side of the circuit board has all the components, such as resistors and diodes. The other side shows the metal ends of these components soldered onto the circuit board, which is what this pattern shows.

Traces
The printed tracks are called Traces. Where each of the components has been soldered onto the traces, I have shown these as white disks.

Colouring The Pattern
I could have coloured all of the traces the same, but felt a two colour approach might be more appealing as a design. The first colour combination sees red and blue traces. In some of the variations I have also varied the colour of the background. Which combination do you prefer?

Zipper Pattern
AI describes the design as:
Zipper is a bold geometric pattern of interlocking curved forms, creating a rhythmic repeat with the playful appearance of an oversized zip.

The design is all my own work of course. I enjoy the creative process so it would be pointless to give that to AI to create for me!

The pattern came before the name by creating a stretched lozenge shape and then repeating it in different formations until I found the most pleasing.

The final version of my VASES pattern design colours half of the vase a paler tint giving the appearance of a highlight and shadow. Everything overlaps too creating a more continuous design.

Introducing Vases pattern
AI describes the design as: A playful pattern of overlapping stylised vases in varied shapes, with crisp outlines and translucent forms creating a fresh, mid-century modern feel.

The design is all my own work of course. I enjoy laboriously creating all of the bottle and vase shapes. What is rather surprising though is that AI described it as “mid-century modern” which was my intention, I’m just surprised AI can tell the difference! It perhaps reinforces my idea of how I remember Mid-Century Modern designs.
Is this how you remember Mid-Century Modern?

Interlocking cubes and bold colourways create a rhythmic geometric pattern where structure, symmetry, and repetition come together.

Do you find it fascinating to gaze across the rooftops and imagine the lives unfolding in all those houses? These are from beautiful Blois in France—a place we’d never heard of and had never planned to visit. We found it purely by chance, which somehow made it even more special. Isn’t there something wonderfully exciting about stumbling across a new place when you least expect it?

On the way back from the Fete we discovered this beautiful overgrown graveyard. The church had been bombed in the war so this is all that remains. There is something so much nicer and more peaceful about the dead being left to nature. What do you think?
