Zipper Pattern
AI describes the design as: Zipper is a bold geometric pattern of interlocking curved forms, creating a rhythmic repeat with the playful appearance of an oversized zip.
Hopefully you will have guessed that the design is all my own work. I enjoy the creative process so it would be pointless to give that to AI to produce for me!
The pattern came before the name, by creating a stretched lozenge shape and then repeating it in different formations until I found the most pleasing. Then realised the shapes looked like a zipper.
Colouring The Pattern
The first designs had all of the zipper shapes in white and it was the background colour that I varied to create the simplest two-colour designs. Well technically this version is a one colour design!
Two Colour Versions
I like to progress the pattern as much as possible so my next version saw the zipper elements duplicated and coloured grey. This doubled the width of the pattern repeat and made the pattern more interesting.

There are three distinct versions of the designs shown here. The final ones looked too similar to my pattern design called Ripples so left these out.
